The basics of digital preservation: sign up for the PTAB/NCDD course on OAIS

14 januari 2016 Gepubliceerd door

On March 23 and 24, PTAB (Primary Trustworthy Digital Repository Authorisation Body) and the NCDD (National Coalition for Digital Preservation) organize a course on OAIS at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (Dutch National Library) in Den Haag, the Netherlands. The course is conducted by the chair of authors of this standard.

NCDD and PTAB hold this course as it has become evident that those with little knowledge of digital preservation struggle with the complexities of the higher level courses. Therefore we have developed a 2-day course on OAIS covering all the basics, enabling students to develop their knowledge and put these practices in place before moving on to the more comprehensive 5-day course in preparation for accreditation of their repositories. It is also evident that there are misunderstandings and misinterpretations about OAIS and, attending the course, will help to de-mystify some of these and provide a thorough and practical approach to managing and preparing repositories for future ISO16363 certification.

Information and registration
For more information about costs and registration please visit the course information page. Employees of NCDD partner institutions receive a discounted rate.
