15-01-2019 - 18-01-2019
The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision organises the annual Winter School for Audiovisual Archiving, a training that gives participants the practical knowledge to design and implement a preservation plan for their audiovisual collections. This year’s Winter School will take place from January 15 – 18, 2019.
Starting with the Basics
The Winter School is about providing practical knowledge: starting with the basics of digital preservation for audiovisual materials and finishing with mapping participants’ own insights and policy on conserving them.
Practice Makes Perfect
This year, the programme will also have a hands-on workshop section full of exercises on preservation planning for AV collections.
Two Scholarships Available
On October 24th, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) announced it is offering two scholarships for the Winter School. Each scholarship covers full registration costs/course fees and a contribution towards travel and accommodation. The scholarships are available to all DPC members. The closing date for applications is 17:00 on Wednesday 14th November, and full guidelines and the application form are available in the Leadership Programme section of the DPC website.
