Promotion of expertise
In 2019 and 2020, we will focus on promoting expertise among professionals in the field of visible, usable and sustainable heritage as well as develop our generic facilities.
The importance of expertise promotion
If we want to increase the active use of digital heritage collections, we must start by making those collections permanently accessible, preferably in open formats. The relevant knowledge and expertise that is available varies from institution to institution. That is why the Digital Heritage Network strives to ensure adequate support for heritage institutions with, as yet, insufficient expertise. Everyone should be able to receive tailor-made knowledge and advice for improving the accessibility of digital heritage.
Training, education, support network
To this end, we have launched two projects. One will provide training and education, the other aims to set up a sustainable support network of digital heritage coaches.
In both projects we work together with OPEN, the network of provincial heritage institutions. Existing connections are being strengthened and expanded into a comprehensive network that reaches all types of heritage institutions across the country.
